Elevator Safety

Elevators are convenient for navigating multistory buildings, but require responsible use to ensure the safety of all residents.

Important elevator safety tips: 

1.      Avoid jumping or horseplay. No jumping or rocking the elevator. Avoid engaging in any horseplay that could jeopardize the safety of yourself and others. This action is dangerous! Any person(s) responsible for damage to the elevator will be held financially accountable.

2.      Hold the door open button. Always press the door open button if someone is rushing to catch the elevator or trying to load items. Do not attempt to stop closing doors with your hands, arms, or any objects.

3.      Mind the gap. Be mindful of the gap between the elevator and the floor when entering and exiting. Ensure your items are secure from falling, and be mindful of your footing to avoid tripping or falling.

4.      Observe weight limits. Avoid overloading the elevator with too many people or heavy items to prevent malfunctions and accidents.

5.      Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures posted in the elevator. In case of an emergency, remain calm and follow the instructions.
